Amex Ventures Invests in Autonomous Finance Startup Fazeshift
The corporate venture arm of American Express backs Fazeshift, an AI-native platform using autonomous agents to streamline accounts receivable workflows.
Amex Ventures, the corporate venture capital arm of American Express, has invested in Fazeshift, an AI-native platform that uses autonomous AI agents to execute end-to-end accounts receivable workflows. The investment amount was not disclosed, but according to a company statement, the funds will be used to expand its agent network and deepen its enterprise finance automation capabilities.
Fazeshift's platform automates accounts receivable processes such as invoice generation, payment reminders, and reconciliation through AI agents, reducing manual intervention. Its system integrates with existing ERP and financial software, catering to both small and medium-sized businesses and finance departments of larger enterprises. The company says its agents have already processed millions of dollars in transaction volume and plans to use the new capital to strengthen compliance features, including KYC and anti-money laundering screening, to address enterprise clients' security requirements.
This investment marks Amex Ventures' latest move in fintech automation, reflecting traditional financial institutions' growing interest in AI-driven financial processes. As agentic payments and automated settlement gain traction, enterprise finance teams are increasingly demanding auditable and traceable AI tools—a trend that aligns with Fazeshift's positioning.
