OpenPayd Partners with Circle to Enable Near-Instant Settlement for Cross-Border Fiat Payments

Payment services provider OpenPayd has announced a partnership with stablecoin issuer Circle to deliver near-instant settlement for cross-border fiat transactions by integrating Circle's payment infrastructure. According to the joint announcement, the solution compresses the clearing and settlement phase of fiat payments to seconds, dramatically reducing the multi-day processing time typical of traditional wire transfers.

OpenPayd, which holds a UK EMI license, serves a client base that includes financial institutions and crypto enterprises. The partnership means its clients can leverage Circle's blockchain network to accelerate fund flows without altering their existing fiat on- and off-ramp practices. Circle stated that the service will initially be available to corporate clients within the European Economic Area, with plans to expand to other jurisdictions in the future.

Analysts note that such collaborations are driving the convergence of traditional payment rails and stablecoin infrastructure, offering more efficient settlement pathways for cross-border trade and correspondent payment scenarios.
