Salesforce announced this week a partnership with AI company Anthropic to launch a new product called "Claudeforce," designed to integrate Anthropic's Claude models into its customer relationship management platform, bolstering its AI agent capabilities. According to the announcement, the product will allow enterprise users to instruct AI agents via natural language commands to automatically execute complex tasks across sales, customer service, and other workflows—such as data queries, email drafting, and customer follow-ups.

This move marks Salesforce's latest foray into the AI agent space, following its earlier rollout of generative AI tools like Einstein GPT. Anthropic's Claude models are renowned for their long-context handling and safety alignment, and the collaboration is widely seen as a direct counter to Microsoft-backed OpenAI in the commercial software market.

Analysts note that AI agents are evolving from simple chatbots into autonomous task executors. With this initiative, Salesforce aims to solidify its leadership in enterprise software while laying the groundwork for emerging use cases such as agentic payments. Claudeforce is currently available to select customers in beta, with a full rollout expected in the coming months.
