Solana Leads x402 Transaction Volume and Count for Second Consecutive Week, Widening Gap with Base
Solana continues to dominate the x402 machine payment protocol, extending its lead over Base as AI agent payments gain traction.

According to blockchain data platform Bloomingbit, Solana has ranked first among all public chains in both transaction volume and transaction count for the x402 machine payment protocol for the second consecutive week, further widening its lead over second-place Base. x402 is a machine payment protocol based on the HTTP 402 status code, enabling AI agents to initiate and receive payments without human intervention.
Solana continues to gain adoption in agent payment scenarios, thanks to its low latency and high throughput capabilities. Base, Coinbase's Layer 2 network, is also actively positioning itself in the AI agent payment space, but this week's data shows the gap with Solana has widened.
Analysts note that the x402 ecosystem is still in its early stages, and rankings across public chains are subject to rapid shifts. As more AI agents integrate real-money settlement, the concentration and stability of on-chain agent payment activity will become key metrics to watch.
