Ripple Developer Kit Adds XRP Payments to Stripe and Tempo's AI Payment Standard

Ripple has added XRP payment capabilities to its developer-facing toolkit and integrated with the AI agent payment standard being advanced jointly by Stripe and Tempo. According to CoinDesk, the toolkit allows developers to directly use XRP as a settlement asset when building automated payment flows, while remaining compatible with the agent-initiated transaction format defined by the standard.

Stripe previously moved into stablecoin clearing and settlement through its acquisition of Bridge. The standard it is now promoting with Tempo is intended to unify interface specifications for payments initiated by AI agents. Ripple's participation makes XRP one of the optional settlement currencies under the standard's framework, alongside stablecoins such as USDC.

For developers, this means that when building machine-to-machine payment scenarios, they can choose different settlement assets under the same standard. However, the toolkit is still in the developer integration stage, and actual merchant coverage and settlement volumes have not yet been disclosed.
