Ant International Launches Dedicated Bank Accounts for AI Agents

On September 18, Ant International announced the launch of "Account for Agent," a bank account designed for AI agents under its global account brand WorldFirst. The account operates on "Know Your Agent" (KYA) smart contracts, enabling real-time monitoring of agent activity and allowing enterprises to intervene. Ant International CEO Yang Peng unveiled the product to over 1,100 executives at the VOYAGE merchant event in Shanghai, alongside nearly 100 AI-powered products spanning payments, accounts, foreign exchange, and treasury management.

Among the two companion products, AgentSafePay offers 100% fund protection covering losses caused by agent-specific failures such as prompt injection and intent misinterpretation—a guarantee Ant says no other payment company provides. Agentic Mobile Protocol supports inter-agent payment settlement as low as $0.000001, with an initial phase already integrated with 10 wallet partners and 7 acquirers.

The network connected to this protocol links 150 million merchants and over 2 billion consumer accounts. Ant International's move pushes agent payments from experimentation into a real account system, and its KYA contracts and real-time intervention mechanisms offer a deployable compliance template for pre-settlement judgments on "who is paying and whether they should pay."
