Ripple has released the XRPL AI Starter Kit, allowing developers to integrate the x402 machine payment protocol on the XRP Ledger and settle transactions in XRP and RLUSD. According to Bitget, the kit is designed for AI agents and automation scenarios, aiming to lower the barrier to integrating machine-to-machine payments. x402 is based on the HTTP 402 status code, enabling AI agents to initiate and complete payments without human intervention. By including both XRP and its own stablecoin RLUSD in the supported range, Ripple is attempting to position XRPL as one of the optional settlement layers for agent payments.
