Standard Chartered Plans Institutional Crypto, Stablecoin and Tokenized Asset Custody in Singapore

Standard Chartered plans to launch custody services in Singapore for institutional clients covering crypto assets, stablecoins and tokenized assets. According to its disclosure, the bank will build custody infrastructure underpinned by Singapore's regulatory framework, serving institutional investors rather than retail users.

The move extends Standard Chartered's recent push into digital assets. The bank already provides crypto custody through its joint venture Zodia Custody and has taken part in multiple stablecoin and tokenized deposit projects. Singapore's Monetary Authority has continued to refine its digital asset regulation in recent years, and several international banks have established crypto-related operations there.

Standard Chartered did not disclose a specific launch timeline or the initial range of assets it will support.
