Robinhood Weighs Tokenizing Actively Managed ETFs on Its Own Chain
The brokerage is exploring issuing stock tokens tied to actively managed ETFs on Robinhood Chain, but product structure, asset-manager partners and timing remain undisclosed.

Robinhood Explores Tokenized Actively Managed ETFs on Proprietary Chain
Robinhood is evaluating the issuance of stock tokens linked to actively managed ETFs on its self-built Robinhood Chain, with the plan still in an early exploratory stage. According to PANews, no specific product structure, partner asset manager or launch timetable has been disclosed.
Robinhood Chain is the underlying network Robinhood has built for tokenized assets. The company has previously rolled out tokenized U.S. equities in European markets. If actively managed ETF tokenization moves forward, it would expand the on-chain asset class from passively tracked stocks to strategy-based products that require managers to continuously rebalance portfolios.
Actively managed ETFs involve daily creations and redemptions, holdings disclosure and rebalancing. Once tokenized, questions remain over how to map net asset value per share, handle corporate actions and align with the existing ETF regulatory framework. Robinhood did not provide further details on these points.
