German Broker Scalable Capital Becomes First in Europe to Connect AI Assistants Directly to Live Accounts
Scalable Capital's new 'Agentic Investing' feature lets clients use ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok to analyze portfolios, adjust orders, and more—while keeping human confirmation for every trade.

German neobroker Scalable Capital announced on August 25 that it has become the first broker in Europe to allow clients to connect external AI assistants—such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Grok—directly to their live brokerage accounts. The feature, dubbed "Agentic Investing," enables customers to use natural language commands to have AI analyze portfolios, compare benchmarks, calculate savings plans, or adjust limit orders. Scalable Capital manages over €60 billion in assets and serves more than one million clients.
While the AI can execute a range of actions, every trade and savings plan still requires explicit client confirmation before execution, and deposits and withdrawals remain limited to Scalable's own app and website. Co-CEO Erik Podzuweit told Reuters that this move is a "first step," with plans for deeper AI integration in the future.
Meanwhile, U.S. brokers are taking three distinct approaches: Robinhood keeps AI confined within its own ecosystem, Interactive Brokers offers only advisory insights, and Public has developed its own proprietary agent. Data shows that about one in ten consumers use AI for more than 27 tasks per month, and nearly one in five millennials already use AI to manage investments—not just to chat.
