According to Crypto Briefing, Anthropic, OpenAI and Google are forming a working group to advance shared AI safety standards. Chris Lehane, OpenAI's global policy lead, confirmed that the coordination has been ongoing for several weeks, covering common pre-release testing, auditing and risk assessment, and that no antitrust exemption is required.
The report notes that this move signals a shift from previously informal safety measures toward a more formal framework. If the three companies establish common standards for pre-release testing and risk ratings, it would change the compliance paths and external communication approaches for their respective products.
On the market side, prediction platforms have shown a shift in pricing for Anthropic. As of 2026-09-19, its YES probability on the "best AI model before October 2026" contract stood at 88.5%, up from earlier levels. The report also notes that the content is an interpretive analysis of public information and was published with a 10-minute delay.
